Allan was the much loved husband of Kathy, dad to Laura and Emily and pops to granddaughters Ruby and Martha, he was also a great friend and teammate to many. We will miss his kind, caring, patient and loving presence in our lives, but we are so grateful for the wonderful memories we've shared throughout his life. Message From Mike Beevor: Our Kath, I was so pleased I watched I felt like I was a part of it. I love the Pops bit and Kath you spoke well don't know how you did it. God knows my thoughts, I am so pleased you were such a happy family and I know that your precious memories and God's love 1 Corinthians 13 (read by Emily) will carry you through the lonely days. Buy a bible and you can read 1 corinthians 13. 52 precious years, what a privilege to be known as Our Kath by the man who cared and loved you so much. Every blessing to you and your family.

The most fantastic dad in the world; thank you so much for being the very best! I will always cherish the wonderful memories. Watching you multi-task reading the sports news, listening to the football on the radio and watching a game on the tv. Not forgetting whilst eating tea! Enjoying films together like Superman, Top Gun and introducing me to some classic old movies. Holding Emily and I and tickling us lots whilst shouting get out of that then. We giggled so much. Sitting together, holding my hand and giving the best dad cuddles. I will treasure my many memories forever. Thank you so much dad for teaching me the importance of showing love in all its many forms and to always tell those I love so very much each and everyday day. I love you loads always and don’t you forget it. xxxxxx

A great teammate Tipton winning the National 12 Stage in 1974. Allan was a true Tipton legend. In my 7 years at Tipton spent many training runs with Allan usually ending up Regent road with Brian Clifton and the Tuesday 10 with Jim Wright. Allan was a true gentleman and a great runner.

As a young teenager growing up in the North East, I first “met” Allan Rushmer watching him on TV running against Bruce Tulloh. Little did I know then that he would become a great friend and neighbour - Allan encouraged me to buy my first house in Tividale, just round the corner from where he, Kath, Laura and Emily lived! Having joined Tipton Harriers, Allan and I trained a lot together along with our team-mates, running everything from Birmingham Leagues to International races with the club. It was my privilege to run the Black Country roads with Allen and to to tease him about his other sporting love…the Baggies! I carry lots of memories not least the odd Friday night down The Red Lion… Allan was a very humble man despite his may athletic achievements and was a proud family man at heart…I’ll never forget him…not least because we shared the same birthday! God Bless Allan…my privilege to know you. Mike Kearns and Family ❤️
