I felt like I'd been winded when a colleague told me today of Dave's passing. Having only met Dave last year, where we worked on the Spike on a Bike steering group together, I feel honoured to have spent time with him and sharing with him the positivity and encouragement for the SOAB project. He encouraged me as a person and always made me feel like my voice mattered, even though I wasn't an academic. I didn't know that Dave was battling cancer, to meet him and know him, his endless energy and optimism and can do attitude would never have made me think he was poorly. My thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues. Reading some of the memories and condolences on this page, he really had such an impact on so many people's lives either though those that met him personally, or through his work on drug policy. He will forever be a reminder to have impact everywhere we go and with everything we do.
