It’s hard to put Dave into word. He was generous with his colleagues and students, passionate for his scholarship, committed to his allies, and one of the most enjoyable companions to travel with. I was fortunate to work with Dave on developing and delivering drug policy courses in India, Hong Kong, and Macau (where he was joined by his wonderful daughter, Poppy). Like so many here, I considered him a mentor and friend. His passing has weighed on me heavily these past days. We were fortunate to travel in life’s journey with him, he’s gone way too soon, and his memory will live inside many of us for decades to come. To all who knew and loved Dave, I’m sending my condolences, strength, and peace.
