Dave was without question the most consequential scholar of drug policy international relations since the UN system began. He was prolific in his writing and was amazingly comfortable walking the varied halls of academia, policy and advocacy. He impacted countless students through his generous approach teaching and writing and provided much of the foundations for the field we have today. He was also just a beloved and lovely guy to have a beer and a chat with. We are lucky for his legacy and to have had the chance to know him and his work. Rest is peace Prof.
