Rest in peace, Dimitri. I will miss you. You were not only a skillful scientist, but, even more important, you were a friendly, honest and brave man. You were never afraid to express your personal opinion whenever there were scientific decisions or proposals you were not agreeing upon, This often meant to go against the opinion of the majority, but your opinion was always based on solid arguments. Your role in Gaia has been of primary importance. You will live in the memories of those, like me, who had the chance to work with you.
