John, Mr Mac was an amazing and very much loved man. As well as being a real family man, He touched the lives of many through his teaching career. Inspiring his colleagues and working tirelessly for all the young people in school. He extended his family values and compassion to us all, he created a community that we all thrived in, young and old alike. We all have so many stories and special memories of this lovely man, it seems appropriate that we come together in the community Mr Mac created and remember him. Please leave a message, or share an experience. In memory of Mr Mac who gave so much to us all.

John was a gentleman. A kind, trustworthy, man of faith. He was highly respected by all Additional Support Needs Staff at Calderglen High School and as PT ASN I learned a lot about inclusion and meeting pupils' needs from John. His provision at Sanderson was excellent and he made such a difference, not only to the pupils in his care, but also their families. John was extremely proud of his family. He also took time to ask others about their families too. My family have lived opposite the McEnaneys for over 30 years. We will miss our chats with John about family, holidays, gardening, golf and retirement as well as his sense of humour and acts of kindness. Our whole cul de sac has been devastated by John's untimely passing. We all miss him.

Mr Mac was one of the good ones, he made the school what it was! A great community where everyone achieved. Max had some fun times especially on outward bound weeks where Max lost footing taking Mr Mac with him they slipped down the rest of the hill on their bums! He even came back to wish my sons year well when they were leaving school. A sad loss for everyone that knew him x

John made a huge difference to the community he served. He cared deeply for the children, young people and staff he led and the values of equality, fairness and justice were at the heart of his actions. We all mourn the loss of John but his lasting legacy will be that he helped change the lives of many for the better. John was a family man driven by a strong sense of faith and this shone through in how lived his life. I considered John both a colleague and friend and was fortunate to both learn from him and laugh with him.

From the first time we met Mr Mac he put our mind at rest with his passion for inclusion and that every pupil going through his school deserved the best. Mr Mac always took the time to speak to you and our Emma adored him. We send our heartfelt condolences to his family.

What a loss to our community! John McEnaney was an outstanding advocate for the young people and families he served with a passion and commitment that rivalled no other. He brought about true transformation and improvements in the world of additional support needs and made us all stand up, listen and go away and rethink our approaches to ensure inclusion was genuine, values-driven and never forgotten. John was a man with such a big, warm heart and quietly looked out for his colleagues. I loved our chats about our campus work together but also about our holidays and families. What John did for Inclusion has changed the pathways of many young people and their families for the better. What he did to foster an amazing community spirit and collaboration will never be forgotten. My warmest thoughts to his family in his untimely passing - I know of you because he spoke so much about you all with pride and dancing eyes. You were his all! I send my own thoughts and that of the Calderglen community to you at this very sad time. John will be sorely missed.

I have so many memories of my time working with Mr Mac, it’s hard to pick out one specific thing. I liked how he came round every Friday and wished every class a nice weekend, I liked how he had a twinkle of mischief in his eye when he sent me to mass with the kids, I liked the banter with the football Rivalry which was fun but taught tolerance and respect, our nights out, our coffee mornings, our assemblies... how he liked to put me on the spot... again with a twinkle of mischief. He always remembered your family and asked after them. I will always remember John with a smile. A man that will be missed.
