John was by far my favourite lecturer during my undergraduate degree, and was a key reason for me staying on at Imperial for the Env Tech MSc. John (and Megan) then provided Paul and myself with endless opportunities to work with them in the Imperial team to support our fledgling startup get off the ground. If it wasn't for John I would certainly not be where I am today and I am eternally grateful for that. And he did it all in the most unassuming and humble of manners.
