I was saddened to hear the news about John. I was an MSc student in 2019 - I wasn't supervised by John, but John's lectures and debate with Tilly on vector control of mosquitoes were my favourite lectures of the full year. I hope this small memory gives an idea of how many thousands of students John has inspired. My thoughts are with his family and friends.
