I would like to express my condolences to Megan and John's other family and friends/loved ones. The lectures/seminars that John gave were always engaging, providing ample opportunity for learning and healthy debates/discussions. You could tell from these sessions how passionate John was and how keen he was to provide excellent teaching/learning for us students. When people were unclear/unsure he was always willing to help out. This was clear during the ERM group modelling project - whilst he wasn't my group's supervisor he was more than happy to help us out, dedicating time each week to review our model and give us advice.
