John was always a trusted sounding board and voice of calm reason within the Target Malaria project where I worked with him for many years. His intentions were always sincere towards bettering the things he was involved with, often quietly in the background not seeking recognition or attention but just having the best interests of the project in mind. Beyond the work he was just a nice, thoughtful, kind person and mentor to so many people in so many ways. My thoughts are with Megan and his loved ones through this difficult time of adjustment and reflection.
