I am deeply sorry and shocked to have just learnt that John passed away in December. I knew him from my masters in Environmental Technology last year where John was my tutor and taught me in my final term. He was kind, wise, encouraging and always willing to help. He really did stand out as a professor and I feel lucky to have been taught by him. Sending my thoughts and prayers to him and his family at this time.
