I met John when I was an Msc (Applied Entomology) 1983/84. student at Silwood Park, as our Lecture in Pest management Decision Making, a subject he co-delivered well with Prof Norton; the teachings that changed my life in many ways.I last met him in mid-1990s in Dar es salaam when he was supervising a PhD student.
