My first encounter with CLO was in 2015 at my final panel interview as a young Graduate Trainee at Oando. I sat there in front of about 10 people and I remember how firm but warm she was. She was someone I truly admired and looked up to.
Michelle Obama once said " When you've worked hard, and done well , and walked through the door of opportunity, you do not slam it shut behind you. You reach back , and you give other folks the same chances that helped you succeed". That is exactly what CLO did. She lived a life of impact.
She was an amazing leader who genuinely wanted to see others succeed just as she had. This was evident in the various initiatives she dedicated her time to, one of such being the last Women Rising event at Oando. The lessons I learnt there are still with me till date so I say a big thank you. Another example which comes to mind was a voluntary focus group aimed at talent management where she volunteered despite her busy schedule as the Chief Legal Officer. Her passion towards the growth and development of people was so evident.
She lived a life of impact and she has definitely left a mark behind. My prayer is that God Almighty gives her family, friends, team and loved ones the strength to bear the loss.
