Ms. Ronell “Roni” Dawn Scheller (née Burgett) died as a result of ovarian cancer in her home alongside loved ones on January, 8 2019 in Chicago, Illinois at the age of 59.
Roni is survived by her parents, Glenn and Patricia Burgett of Grand Rapids Michigan; children, Alexyn Scheller, 30, (Jen Scheller) of Richmond, Virginia, and Calla Scheller McLaughlin, 29, (Daniel McLaughlin) of Chicago, Illinois; and sisters Kyle Lagrois of Rochester Hills, Michigan, and Pamela Stanley of Asheville, North Carolina and beloved brother in law Marc Lagrois nephews Remy Lagrois, Christian Lagrois, David Stanley and niece Hannah Stanley.
Roni was born on 12/22/1959 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Glenn and Patricia Burgett. She graduated from Michigan State University in 1982 with a degree in Packaging Engineering. After living in several cities, she moved to New Jersey where she welcomed her two children, Alexyn Scheller and Calla Scheller. She prided herself on instilling creativity, hard work, and generosity into her children, and her children remember her as an incredibly driven, perseverant, and as a wonderful mother who encouraged them to follow their dreams.
Roni was accomplished at packaging engineering and even had 3 patents to her name. She spent her time working internationally in Toronto, Canada and her favorite city of Istanbul, Turkey. She was a witty, hilarious, dedicated woman who loved her family, her MSU Spartans, and who was passionate about college sports, spending time with her family, and giving to others.
