Noel my friend my mentor I have known Noel for about 35 years since I started volunteering at the RPSI at about 13 years old. He made a great impact on my life. I joined NIR at 18 and he helped me progress my career and taught me so much and eventually taught me everything about driving steam locomotives. We had some amazing days on the footplate with some terrific runs. He was an inspiration to many drivers and railway colleagues but for me I personally owe him so much. He taught me the difference between becoming a driver and becoming a railwayman.
RIP my friend my mentor.
