Peter is and always will be the Scouting Guru to me, he is the one who kept us all in line and brought so much experience and knowledge to us all!
He may have ‘officially’ retired from scouting many years ago, but he never left, he was always there doing as much as he was before if not more! It would be a running joke asking him if he would ever ‘properly’ retire, as the first retirement never really worked out for him, but as we relied on him so much, we never really wanted to see that happen!
Camps will never be the same. The priceless witty comments and humour provided by Peter kept the camp spirits going even when it was pouring with rain, and we had lots of cold and muddy children!
A massive hole has been left within our Scouting group, one in which will never be filled. I can only hope that the group can take all of the years of Peters expertise knowledge and planning and continue to provide a scouting group Peter would be proud of!
Peter will be sorely missed by all.
