Nigel was always full of inspiration, energy and laughter. He was ahead of his time - in the field, in the MSc, in encouraging diversity of thought and in continuing to make a profound impact on his students well after graduation. It was through Nigel's immense support and guidance I was awarded a scholarship to study at Imperial in 2009, and I will forever be thankful. Like so many others, I owe so much to Nigel both in terms of my academic learning and the first steps in my career. Nigel had a couple of seeds and he made a forest that continues to thrive. He was truly one of a kind and I was blessed to have crossed his path. RIP Nigel. My thoughts are with your family and friends.
