After I received Calla’s note, it’s taken me some time to be able to click on the link. Somehow this makes it more real. I am just as devastated as I was when she wrote me that the chemo wasn’t working. As a sister in Gilda’ club, Roni was a rock for me and always encouraging when my facial expression changed to worry. In the brief time I got to know her as a fellow traveler on this ovarian cancer merry go round, I found her to be brilliant, steady, thoughtful and full of compassion and optimism. I know that my grief pales in comparison to those whom she loved all of her life, but I want you to know she shared enough of herself for us all to miss her deeply. All of you who loved her are in my prayers as you seek comfort. Roni will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you for sharing her with the rest of the world—-I’m certainly blessed and better for it. Peace and love, Brenda
