Here we have come together to remember our beloved Abdullah Khan, the strength of our family. May Allah shower His mercy on our dearest Abdullah Khan, and grant him the highest place in Jannah. “Surely to Allah we belong and to Him we return”. Abdullah brought joy to everyone around him. A great son, husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, he touched lives in meaningful and unforgettable ways. With his warmth, optimism and charming demeanor he made an instant connection with all who met him. He was a visionary, a man ahead of his times which helped shape the futures of many around him. He was immensely hard working, an entrepreneur and a farmer. He was a voracious reader, pursuer of knowledge in every field, a globetrotter, a food connoisseur, an incredible cook, and an avid shopper. He had a love for exploring and learning. His generosity and kindness rendered support and help to all who needed it. We will miss his warmth, energy, and ever-smiling face, and not to forget that twinkle in his eyes. The values Abdullah exemplified have become even more important to us, as we strive to embrace them in our lives. This website cherishes his memories forever and shares his life with others. This couplet, his favorite, will always remind us of him— “Gulon mein rang bhare baad-e-nau-bahaar chale, Chale bhi aao ke gulshan ka kaarobaar chale”

It was a profound shock to know about Abdullah Bhai 's untimely and tragic death. Cruel destiny has snatched a jewel from us whose absence can never be filled. I remember whenever he met us, he would share his experiences and encourage us to stay positive and never give up hope. A wonderful brother and always ready to advice or help. It was a comforting thought that Abdullah Bhai was there like an umbrella for family, relatives or friends. In these moments of grief and bereavement, my deepest sympathy goes out to the entire family and I know that it is going to be hard to imagine life without him especially for Saba bhabhi, Eram and Sameer and I pray that faith and inner strength will help them to bear this irreparable loss! Abdullah Bhai will be long remembered by everyone who knew him.may he rest in peace. Allah maghfaraat ata Kare. Ameen. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Awesome Abdullah Bhai, Rest in Peace, may Allah take good care of you with his choicest blessings. I do not have enough words to describe his legacy. He was like an older brother, friend and guide. He was the first person I met on arriving at AMU, we immediately bonded and he took me under his wings. Growing up in Meerut, I went to same school as all brothers. Abdullah bhai was such an incredibly gifted and talented person who shaped so many lives including mine for which I am eternally grateful. A man of great intellect and wisdom, he was a 'peoples person' who with his wit and charm was was adept at handling any situation. Always warm, loving and caring for all, encouraging, engaging, full of energy, dynamism and very much ahead of time. He believed in good life and worked hard for it. Bhabhi, Sameer and Iram and family my heartfelt condolences and sympathies to you all. May you have the strength to cope in this unbearable loss. FARRUKH NASEEM We all of course every day remember the great departed soul . Abdullah Khan was and is a heavenly soul who brought happiness and contentment to so many. Loosing him is not not a loss to all of us but to all who knew him . Destiny can be cruel at times and indeed it was this time. There is no day that passes by when we all don't experience the nostalgic thoughts of his presence around us . As said by an elderly Irish women when she see a coffin carried on shoulders of few and followed by many .... She states looking from the window of the car she passes by , and she says sarcastically here goes the great person to heaven as most of us don't appreciate and feel the importance of a living person but condol and praise him or her when gone . Some even become poetic and say great things but forget about the respect and acknowledgement of big heartedness of the individual apart from the love and affection and shelter of fame to the family one provided . For me late Mr. Abdullah Khan was a hero. Where ever he went and whatever he did was for his family and dear ones and for all others who worked for him . I remember when he said to me...”Farrukh the Zenith of acheivement and satisfaction in life is when one reaches a level that he or she could make sure that the flames of a cooker burn in many houses and families flourish because of one's hard commitment and greatness “. Only a stateman can think that way . He indeed with his presence got fame and respect for his dear ones and those who work for him . The best Dua one can do for the departed soul is to follow the path of love, gratitude, humbleness and commitment and sincerely he showed in his dealings ... On a cynical note I can only say that this world today and some of us have distracted ourselves so much because of uncalled pressure of life we have become hypocrite , unfaithful, we slander on slightest appourtinity and are thankless to almighty and greedy. Today's world was not for the man of class it only would have brought pain and disappointment to him . He indeed said few weeks before his demise to someone so close to him ....'Life is no more worth living ' for me Allah agreed with him and brought him to his heavens. Amen .

I have the fondest memories of my dearest mamu as a child. He was always so caring, loving and encouraging. He always there to guide us, and watch over us.. which now he continues to do so. The relationship between my mother and her brother was a bond like no other, he was always there for my mother whenever she needed him. My mother suffers from dementia, but Abdullah mamu was there every week to make her smile, laugh and share memories with her! He has been my father’s right hand and biggest emotional support. They could talk for hours, they had a very honest relationship. Throughout his travels, he always brought something back for my father, which always put a smile on his face! “Yeh tho Abdullah laya hai” is a common phrase in our house. He was an excellent son, I remember how he used to come visit my nana and nani every week, even with the busiest of schedules. I remember many times when he would arrive at 12am and leave early in the morning at 5am just to spend some time with his parents. He was one of the pillars of our family, he will be missed very dearly.

I met Abdullah bhai in 1987 in Saudi Arabia, knew him first as the brother in law of our friend Faisal Saleem. Was very impressed about his entrepreneurship and work on the Ganga Action plan. He used to travel quite a bit to Saudi and Abdullah bhai, Faisal and I started planning about business in Saudi Arabia and our first project was to start a computer trading company in Al Khobar. During this process, met him many times in Al-Khobar and Jubail and we kept working on the plans, I also travelled with him to Singapore in 1989 to attend a computer exhibition. In 1989, we got involved in another project in Aligarh India and opened our real estate company called Skyline Dwellings Private Limited (Abdullah bhai, Javaid Bhai( Javaid Saeed), Salman bhai, Faisal and I were partners) and it was during this time I came to know Abdullah bhai very well both as a person and an entrepreneur. We used to meet very often in Delhi and Aligarh to launch the project. Also discovered Abdullah bhai’s great love for food and whenever we wanted Abdullah bhai to agree on something, Javaid bhai and I made sure we went to a nice restaurant where the food was good. Abdullah bhai, was at the forefront of finalizing the Architect, advising about the company structure, getting us to start the company from a scratch. He was involved in a lot of projects at that time, but was always enthusiastic and full of energy and ideas for new business. We did a couple of projects and then moved on our separate paths. I met Abdullah bhai a couple of times in UAE and last met him in 2015/ 16, at his residence in Ras Al Khaimah, when Faisal had come from US. At this point I found him to focus on health, nutrition, and like always he had a wealth of knowledge in this field, which came from a keen interest in reading and learning about the world around him. It was always a pleasure to spend time with Abdullah bhai, one of the rare individuals, who had tremendous self confidence, a zest for life and determination to get where he wanted, he was an inspiration for a lot of us and it was a short but Well Lived Life ! His zest for life, his warmth, his concern for everyone of us, his smile, his love for food and for being the perfect Mehmaan Nawaz, Oh I can’t list it all and words are banal when Abdullah bhai is remembered. To me he was always the caring elder and every time we met his warm embrace was the perfect welcome. I will cherish the memories. They will never be enough to replace the real deal though.

Abdullah Sir was a larger than life personality. He was an energetic, sharp, ambitious and a well travelled Consultant. His knowledge on water and environment always amazed me considering he was an electrical engineer! He was truly way ahead of his time. As a 20 something Engineer, he gave me an opportunity to work on my dream project: The Dal Lake Conservation project. He could see how eager I was to work on my home project and made me a part of his IRAM Consult family. We were around 10-12 of us working from a flat in Zakir Bagh. I have fond memories of that year where I learned a lot and made some great friends: He treated us like his family. He set us strict deadlines but equally took great care of us. I remember once I had food poisoning and knowing that I live in a hostel, he made sure Dhan Singh, his cook made khichdi for me everyday till I completely recovered. I worked on the project for a year and a half and then moved to England. Last I met him was in Srinagar in 2002 and we discussed what all could be done to revive the Dal Lake and how the govt was busy changing consultants and dragging it's feet on implementation. I feel terrible for not staying in touch with him all these years. People are precious and it's so important to touch base once in a while. I had a photo with him and our team but can't find it now. When I do, will surely share it InshaALLAH. May ALLAH grant him Jannat ul firdous and give lots of sabar to you all. I have no words to express how much I feel your pain and want to assure you that he is part of my magfirat prayers every day. InshaALLAH heavens would have opened the doors for him. This separation is temporary, you as a family will meet again InshaALLAH in Jannah. Cherish the memories till you meet again. Love and duas Anusha

Abdullah Uncle was a man whose zest for life was visible every time he spoke. He was truthful , pragmatic yet hopeful and lived life deeply. I have grown up around him and he played an important role as a father figure to me since I was around 11-12 years old. While I have many memories of Uncle while I was a pre teen and teenager , my two most interactions in the last decade or so with Abdullah Uncle will be the most memorable. He had visited Bombay on a Work trip for a conference and was staying with me and my family in our home in Bandra. More than me I remember my mum and dad looking forward to these visits. Every time my parents and Abdullah Uncle and Saba Aunty met , it was like we were all part of one family , such was the warmth of the relationship we have shared over 30 years, inspite of the limited number of interactions. During this Bombay conference, I was with him for the entire event and I had a chance to see Uncle in his professional avatar. One particular instance I remember is when the chief guest of the event the Hon. Suresh Prabhu ( MP & Former Rail and commerce minister ) met Uncle with extreme cordiality and immediately the two of them struck up a conversation like old friends do. We were taken to a private lounge area where the two of them continued their interaction for some time. In the middle of such an important industry event , a man like Hon. Mr Prabhu gave his sole attention to Uncle and I saw the mutual respect with which the two of them conducted themselves - this was actually typical of most interactions that Uncle had and that’s because he cultivated deep meaningful relationships with people. Irrespective of one’s so called stature or status , he always treated each person he met with respect. The last I spent time with Uncle was when Sameer and Basant were to celebrate their marriage in Thailand. My wife and I had reached the hotel after a long and tiring journey and who do see in the lobby at check in - Abdullah Uncle! Even in a foreign country he was his usual self as my wife would find out for the first time - after greeting me and my wife( she had met Uncle for the first time) , he turned to the reception and tells the girl who was handling our check in “ Please make sure these two kids are well taken are of. Yeh hamare Bahut special guests hain - they are like family and very special guests of ours from India. “ Even in a strange country , as tired as we were , just with uncles warm demeanour and words , we were instantly at ease. That was the magic of his personality. He was a larger than life person and for him that didn’t mean living a lavish wasteful lifestyle , rather he spent his time on enjoying what really mattered - people and experiences. He deeply loved his family and had a deep connection to his roots. He was a man proud of his heritage and was a sharp , intelligent hard working person, who rose in life through grit and determination. There weren’t many men in his time like him and there definitely aren’t many like him that will be born anytime in the future. I will miss you dearest uncle and always remember that naughty little bright sparkle in your eyes every time you smiled. Remember the quality time we spent as a family with Abdullah Bhai in June 2018 when he came all the way from India for Nabeel’s graduation. From graduation celebrations in Montreal to sightseeing in New Hampshire and Vermont to shopping at quaint local shops and of course his cooking of nihari, and roghan josh, we did it all in those few jam packed days. He fell in love with the flavor of “salted caramel” ice-cream and that was his after dinner indulgence while he was here. We enjoyed every bit of his stay with us. We miss you dearly. May God shower His mercy on you. Ameen. Fatima, Nabeel, Jabeen and Parvez
