11 years ago my friend Carrie Greenberg hosted a baby shower for me at her house. I was new to this area and the Jewish community. She opened her doors for me and my family so I can celebrate a kosher meal with our community. I’m forever grateful for her generosity and kindness. She was an amazing host who taught me a few tricks and tips that I still use today. When I found out she had cancer I reached out to her and cried. She said “It’s ok Sharon. There’s nothing you need to say.” She was the one assuring me. She was the one taking care of me once again. A few years later she messaged me asking me to send her a photo of my kids. She loved seeing the joy in their eyes while she was stuck in bed. We chatted here and there throughout the years. Sharing stories and milestones. Then last year her grandson ended up in Jacob’s kindergarten class. It has been so nice getting closer to her daughter and grandson. I miss you Carrie. Your smile, your kindness and your texts. BDE
