I remember Carrie along with her dear friend Julia sitting me down at some shul event right after my divorce to let me know specifically that I was welcome to hangout with her anytime, at any event, or Shabbos or holiday. At a time when I felt most alone, she specifically reached out to me to make sure that I knew that I wasn't. It was a moment and a kindness I have never forgotten. This is Carrie to me--generous, inclusive, sensitive, and compassionate; brilliant, beautiful, artistic and creative. May her beautiful soul have a complete aliyah

We arrived in OP in 2012 and we didn’t know anybody. From the very beginning of our arrival to the Oak Park community the Greenbergs always tried to help wherever they could to make us feel ‘at home’. If it was to invite us for beautiful prepared Shabbat dinners or Carrie’s unlimited devotion and love of helping wherever she could, not only us but though out the entire community. She definitely was a pillar of this community and she will be remembered as kind, giving, loving and caring wife, friend, mother and grandmother. Stuart, Jocelyn, Ben + kids, words cannot explain how heartbroken we are and we are so very sad for not being able to be there for you in person. But you are in our hearts and prayers. May HaShem give you strength in these difficult times. ❤️ Eran, Avigail, Lian, Noa and Omri

Dearest Carrie, It’s excruciating to be writing about you in the past. My heart is pounding and my hands are shaking.. How, I ask myself, can I attempt to describe you with words? By far you were one of the most gracious, kind and gentle souls, whose bearing was always humble, dignified and loving. An elegant woman both on the inside and externally. Your Hebrew name, Chana, personifies all that is you. Coming from the root word Chein. It means grace, it means beauty It means charm. Need I say more?? I learned so much from you, Carrie. Sometimes through your expertise in all things color and design. Sometimes through your wisdom in relationships. Sometimes by simply observing how you smiled, loved and gave so freely and generously. I humbly watched your complete dedication to HaShem; your warm and welcoming spirit to our community; and always, always your eternal and joyful commitment to your family, your precious precious family. And how they all adore you! Carrie, I will miss the days that we kvelled as we discussed the grandkids, a good recipe, our love of vibrant colors and your tips that helped organize me; and we all know that you reigned supreme there! My dear friend, Please beseech on high that HaShem remember His promise and bring us Moshiach NOWW. We simply can’t wait anymore!! With much love Leah♥️

The Greenberg’s were the first family we met in Oak Park. I stayed with them one Shabbos to decide if this place was right for us. After meeting Carrie there was no doubt. My best memory was going on a tour of fabric stores together Her open and caring personality impressed me so much. She will be sorely missed by all
