Bill was indeed a very kind man...I remember in the summer of 1970, (before Pat & Bill were married), when I had just left school, I'd had to have a smallpox injection prior to going nursing...& became very unwell after it..
Bill was at our house...& the rest of the family were going out for some reason...Bill volunteered to stay with me, as I was feeling so poorly....
He also insisted on taking me to A.& E. as I was getting progressively worse, which he did & patiently waited for me to be seen by a doctor,...& then got me home in a taxi....
I was so grateful at the time....& although it's such a long time ago, never forgot his kindness...
Kindness is a very precious thing to find in a person,....more of it would make for a better world....& I learnt early on that Bill had a very kind heart...
Rest in peace....You will be remembered...xx
