My fondest memories of Nick was from our many Quarterly Performance Reviews with RTE. I certainly wasn't the most important person in the room, and as the Technology Development Director I was conscious that my work wasn't the focus of Nick's visit. Despite all this, he always gave a wonderful, beaming smile and made a point of shaking my hand. It may have been a small thing, but it made me feel included and that my work mattered to him. As others have mentioned, I admired and respected his incredible attention to detail, strategic thinking, and calm direction...but what I remember most is that smile.
