As Nick’s first EA, I had the privilege of accompanying him on his early trips to the various refineries around the globe. I have fond memories of our first trip to Australia and during those flights, dinners, car rides etc, Nick would talk about his experiences running refineries which gave me great insight into the depth and scope of his expertise. However, what struck me was his empathy and care for the people he had worked with both past and present. He always made people around him feel comfortable which enabled them to have more open and honest conversations. It was clear from the start that Nick was sincerely interested in helping others learn from his experiences which I always appreciated.
