The first lecture Nigel gave us left me with a great impression of him and I will never forget that he started the lecture with ‘All flesh is grass”, a statement which so simply expressed the circularity of life, the power of plants and nature. It is also testament to Nigel’s love of botany.
Nigel has greatly inspired me throughout the course and beyond. It has been a great privilege to have met him, and I will forever remember his exuberance, great laugh and larger than life personality. I will always cherish these memories, and he will always be close to my heart.
