Thomas, I never told you this but because my dad had his stroke 10 years ago, it was the only reason I was able to recognise instantly you having your stroke 3 years ago in the office when we called the ambulance. It impacted my family a lot because of the new meaning it gave to what I went through with my dad, it felt like a weird unexpected gift came from that, that because of my dad's stroke, you were able to continue after that and to give so much to the world, your family, your work. We never ever spoke about that incident, but I wish we could have. It was a true honour to know you, you are one of those invisible heroes in the UN, that so few people outside of the UN understand, or even know about. I am grateful I got to tell you in December how inspirational you have been to be with making your vision come true. Although I wish I got to tell you much more. Our last conversation was last week complaining about the silly institutional dynamics. Instead I wish I could have just told you how much I appreciate you and that if I ever became a father I would want to be like you. And whatever I do in my career, I want to be like you. I will never forget you, and will remember you everyday in this office. Take care my friend. Sending you and your family so much love. Tish
