James Hannay

December 4, 1977 - March 11, 2021

After so many years we truly are saddened that you really won’t make your class. But we’ll forgive you this once! You do realise that we will miss out on the cheeky banter, that bloody guitar, the tidy cupboard (despite having a class), but most of all, our friend. In all seriousness, we have lost an excellent teacher and picking a highlight would be impossible; Remember the bus you won in a raffle? What about the school of rugby kids you sent to Japan? The outdoor education you gave our kids; they kayaked they climbed, they got lost in the forest; you gave them opportunities they didn’t know existed. Who is going to call the dances? Who is going to be in charge of pods? Who will fix things when they break? The honest answer is nobody. No-one can replace you or even come close. Despite your moaning, we wouldn’t have had it any other way! Always in our hearts, always in our team. On behalf of all at North West Community Campus.

wow where do i begin.. Mr Hannay along with two others lecturers taught me for P.E throughout my time at max/high ( 2012 - 2016) looking back one of the first things that comes to mind about mr Hannay is how encoraging and helpful he was during lessons, whether it was cheering you on at sports days or running cross country in typical scottish weather or encouraging you to take part in the yearly dances which I loathed with a passion he was always there with a big smile on his face or a shoulder to lean on. Rip Sir you will be dearly missed! My thoughts go out to his family, friends and students or former students ❤️
